We are finally at home!

We have been in our new place for almost a week now. It is so wonderful! Ellie and cohen love it so much. Ellie just keeps asking, "when are we going home?" I respond with, "this is our home now!" She just grins and laughs. Cohen is crawling all over and standing up against everything. He is doing a lot of great falls. Luckily he hasn't attempted the stairs yet!

Ellie got a big girl haircut. She has a habit of twisting her hair around her finger. The other day at nap time she started screaming. Jake ran in and yelled to me to get the scissors. I ran in to the bed room to see her little finger turned dark purple so without thinking I just chopped off her hair. So she got a cute a-line cut. She turns 3 in two weeks and is so excited for her birthday party. She wants a happy cake with fire on it. (Candles) What a doll.

Cohen has four teeth and is just the sweetest thing! He has started to wave once in a while and loves his big sister so much. Everything she does makes him laugh.

They are such darling kids.

here we go!!

We are moving this week- finally into our new condo. YEA! Jake took Ellie to the BYU football game today while Cohen and I threw my cousin a wedding shower. Jake said Ellie was trying to nap during the game. I'll post some pics soon. The other day Ellie told me she wanted to go on the potty train. Funny she hates the toilet but she thinks a train ride would be fun! Any great ideas on training little ones? My mom is making us all dinner tomorrow night for Michael's 23rd B-day. That will be so fun to get all the fam together, and eat mom's roast and potatoes! Yum

Our Condo

Our Condo is almost done. Ours is the middle garage. Unfortunately those are not our windows. We look out on the other side.

Cohen is very excited

This is Elyse's room
This is where our living room kitchen and dining room will be.

The funny things Elyse does

This is Jake by the way.

So I was trying to get her to go on the potty and she was trying to hide. And I'm sure as you know that when you child is hiding, it usually means they are pooping. After begging and trying to convince her and even picking her up and taking her into the bathroom she still stayed in the bedroom. Once she finally came out of the bedroom I was about to say something to her and she puts her hand up and says "No Daddy." Literally, it was like talk to the hand because the face ain't listening. It was hillarious.

I also bought looney toons for her to watch thinking it is better than what is on TV for kids. And for the most part I think it is but there is actually a lot of violence within these cartoons. Anyways, when she gets upset and want to watch the looney toons, she says "I want to watch rabbit bug," which means Bugs Bunny.

The other day she sat on the couch and was eating popcorn, she says "Mom, this is delicious."

She sure is cute.

update on our crazy lives

Our new house is coming along well. I went to see it this week and they are mudding the drywall. supposedly we have 6 more weeks of apartment living!!! Cohen had his 6 month check up today and is doing well, other than the reflux. He is spitting up worse than ever. Poor little guy keeps a smile through it all! Ellie is coming up with new phrases each day. Her latest is "i'm tired, i'm sick." She says it each time she doesn't want to do something. She told me today, "i am going to marry a prince in my wedding dress." She's TWO!!! Boy are we in trouble in a few years. Jake's job is going well he loves it at Scott Machinery. It's so nice to have him working at a job he loves. I am exhaused and happy. Love those baby grins and laughs!!

The Mom Test

To all moms, future moms, friends and relatives of moms, and dads lucky enough to be married to moms.....
I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. 'Why?' my daughter asked. 'Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs' I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, 'Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart.' I was thinking quickly. 'All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom.' We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. 'OH...I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad. ''Exactly' I replied back with a big smile on my face.

When you're finished laughing, send this to a Mom.
